ABOUT THE ARTIST
Dr. Joanna Elliott Whitsett is a freelance harpist in Houston, TX. Holding a Doctorate of Musical Arts from the University of Houston, Joanna is a sought-after professional musician. She is versatile in classical, sacred, popular, and Broadway musical styles.
Joanna has been a featured recitalist and harpist for numerous events around the Houston and Galveston area. Noted venues include Houston Baptist University, Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, Chapelwood United Methodist Church, Houston Country Club, Houston Polo Club, Galveston Country Club, Briar Club, River Oaks Country Club, Rothko Chapel, Brennan’s, The Brownstone, San Luis Resort, Hotel Galvez and many other churches and reception sites.
She has served as harpist for the Baylor Symphony Orchestra, Baylor Wind Ensemble, Waco Chamber Orchestra, Fort Worth Civic Orchestra, Baylor Chamber Singers, Baylor Concert Orchestra, Houston Civic Orchestra, University of Houston Collegium Musicum and Rice University Chorale.
Joanna currently serves as the organist for Moody Methodist Church in Galveston, TX and has performed internationally as a concert organist.
